It runs on figures you already have
A contract value, a rate, a date, a number of days. If it needs someone to read your contract first, it is not a free tool — it is a contract review, and it is a different exercise.
You do it more than once a year
The value is in the repetition. A calculation you perform once on one unusual project is not worth building. One you redo every time a job starts is.
The answer changes what you do
A number that is interesting but changes nothing is a distraction. The good ones make you pick up the phone, price something differently, or serve a notice you were not going to serve.
Things We Would Build
- Prolongation cost per day. Weekly on-site overhead broken down to a daily rate for delay claims.
- Retention release schedule. What is due back, when, and what is already overdue.
- Cash flow impact of payment terms. What 45 days versus 30 days actually costs you across a job.
- Variation margin erosion. What happens to job margin when variations are priced at cost.
- Bank guarantee cost. What security is costing you over the life of the contract.
- Anything jurisdiction-specific. Statutory calculations nobody else will build because the market is too small.
Things We Would Not
- Anything that reads a contract. Clause analysis is the product, not a free tool.
- Anything that assesses entitlement. Whether you have a claim is a judgement, not arithmetic.
- A generic project management feature. There are better products for that, and we are not building one.
- Anything requiring a login. These tools collect nothing and store nothing. That is deliberate and it is not changing.
- Anything we cannot verify. If the underlying position cannot be checked against legislation or published data, it does not get built.
What Happens Next
You send it
A paragraph is plenty. What you calculate, what you put in, what comes out, and why it matters. No form to fill in and no fields you have to complete.
We reply either way
Within a couple of business days, with an honest answer. Sometimes that answer is that it is a contract review rather than a calculator, or that we cannot verify the underlying position well enough to publish it.
If we build it, you see it first
We will send it to you before it goes on the site, so you can tell us where it is wrong. That is the only follow-up you will get.
It goes up free
Same as everything else here. No sign-up, no gate, no email required, for you or for anyone else.
Send it through
Opens your email client with a few prompts already in the body. Delete anything you do not want to answer — none of it is required.
Send a suggestion → admin@pivotiq.com.auNo list, no follow-up
Writing in does not subscribe you to anything. One reply, and one more if we build it.
Built and published free
Anything that comes out of a suggestion goes on the tools page for everyone, at no cost.
An honest answer either way
If it is not something we can build well, we will tell you that rather than leaving it unanswered.
